For those in academia, I'm curious to hear thoughts on whether rise.com would be a good solution for a school looking to put courses online. Any downsides to this environment for that?
Great question! I'm curious to see what other community members in academia have to say about this.
In the meantime, I thought I'd point out that there's a great article over on the rise.com blog that was specifically written for people in academia: 6 Ways to Optimize Your Online Education.
Karen K.: I spent 11 years teaching writing and rhetoric at the University of Colorado at Boulder, and I can't think of a better, and easier tool to use than Rise. Ton of features, easy to learn, works great on mobile devices.
I anticipate any challenges would be on the learning management system side of the equation. You might loop in you Ed Tech person (if that isn't you), and have them take Rise for ride. Thanks for the post. --Daniel
We use both Rise and Storyline. Rise is perfect for smaller learning courses and love the fast development to production time and ease of us. The only drawback is I wish we could save the working file to our desktop like Storyline.
