rotating two dials simultaneously
Jan 07, 2019
Hi all,
I'm building an interactivity in Storyline 3 where learners will need to practice using a certain tool. Because it involves rotation of two parts I wanted to use a dial. But instead of using a combination 'dial + states' I wanted to use two dials linked together. the idea is that if one part rotates the other one rotates too.
Any chance this can be built? As far as I understand dials are only controlled by the learner meaning that they can't be rotated otherwise. But perhaps there's a trick I'm missing?
Thank you :-)

dials are connected to a variable so you could assign both dials to the same variable that way one would move both
Thanks Phil, I did exactly that but it didn't work. the variable changes when I rotate one dial but the second dial is not moving
Do both dials have the same values (start/end/steps)?
Thanks Michael,
These two dials have different starts and values. I think I managed to link them together and get the effect I was after but I have to use two variables and assign a certain value to one of them when another ones changes. I was hoping to find an easier way to do this but I think this is the best I could do.
Using the same variable is the best solution but if the start value is different it may be odd. I have found using two variables can get a little confusing especially if you run a calculation when it changes.
