Scenario building question

Jul 14, 2020

Hello there,

I'm currently building scenarios in Rise. One of the scenarios the client would like to build is a nurse having a complex/crucial conversation with patient about end-of-life goals. I'm struggling with how to go about this and would love any advice, examples, etc. Thanks in advance!

Hi Lisa,

Yeah, that's a fairly complex one.

I would break it down a bit more. For example, what are the questions that the Nurse needs answered? Then what are the possible responses, and solutions.

The medical community has pretty much defined those questions and possible answers, and generally have forms that they fill out with the possible answers, and what actions that must be taken based on those answers. Getting your hands on one of their forms might also be a good starting point. Then sit down with your client, and get them to go over each question and answer on a one by one basis.

Once you have that information you can break it down into a logical path that you can turn into build into your scenario, with all of its possible permutations.

Hi Lisa,

Are you struggling from a content perspective or from a technical perspective?

If you're unsure how to go about writing the scenario itself, here's an example that you may find useful. It was built in Storyline 360 but you could adapt it and build it in Rise 360.

While I'm at it, I thought I'd send you the links to a few articles on writing scenarios:

If you're having trouble figuring out how the scenario block works, here are some resources that should help:

I hope that's helpful!
