Search function without Flash

We are creating performance support courses that rely heavily on the search option. We noticed the search option does not appear when using ios. After further investigation we discovered the search feature is available through Flash. Adobe has officially ceased development of Flash for all mobile devices and Google announced that it will begin blocking Flash by default in the Chrome browser. I am hesitant to use a feature that relies on Flash but the search function is essential to the design of this course. Can anyone suggest an alternative option? I hate to start over with a new authoring tool but that may be the only way.
