Can anyone recommend an audio transcription/ closed captioning software that works with Storyline 360 (i.e. that outputs a .srt, .vtt, .sbv, or .sub file that can then be imported into 360) , can be installed locally on our network/computers as opposed to cloud-based, and is secure?
We create training that has a lot of sensitive/private information and I cannot use a service like YouTube to transcribe audio and create CC because that requires sending the file through Google's servers.
Try using speech to text once the script is final and then record your "real" audio and swap the files. Minor adjustments will still have to be made...
Unfortunately, due to the amount of CC we have to do, (our average slide count clocks in some where around 40-50 slides) and our audio clips are often 1.5-2 minutes in length per slide. Even using the built in CC option in Storyline, which we do regularly, the transcription process is incredibly slow and tedious. It's not unusual for us to spend 8-16 hours alone on copying and pasting CC transcripts into Storyline. Having a piece of software to auto-generate the CC would be a massive time saver.
