SME Collaboration Calendar / How To

May 03, 2022

Hello all 🤩,

In order to better collaborate with SME, I would like to create a calendar where they can write down the courses they have to develop in the future. That way I would have more visibility on what is coming up.

  1. How do you think I should do this so that I am not ignored?
  2. Build a Miro Board and provide them with a link where they can mark the dates when they want to launch courses.
  3. A course in storyline assigned as mandatory in the LMS (inside the course I can build a calendar where they can add their input with variables).
  4. MS form.

How do you do this in your teams? Any advice or help is extremely helpful.

Hi Patricia! I like that you're planning ahead! I have one possible option you could use. If you do go the MS route, I created this Course Update Spreadsheet that you can download for free. I know I originally made it for updating older courses, but you can easily edit the column names with other items, such as—course title, audience, ideal start date, ideal publish date, SME/Stakeholder contact, priority, notes (or reason for training), existing resources links, etc.—to name a few. This is just an idea! Perhaps the community has other methods that have worked for them.

Hi,

I'd probably create a Google Form for this. I like doing that because you can capture everyone's names, set it up as multiple choice, and then use the Google add-in so that when they submit it you get an email with their update. You can log in and view the responses and build your own calendar from there.

The other thing is that you could control the dates you offer them to create courses. Maybe you will be on vacation and don't want those dates to be considered. See a sample image.
