Hi Que. I wish I had some Canvas experience so I could lend a hand here! I also took a look around at older posts in the community and found that one of our community members, Carrie Booth, mentioned recently that she's got some Canvas success stories to share. You could either chime in on that thread since she's subscribed to it, or you might want to click on Carrie's name to go to her E-Learning Heroes profile page. From there you can click on the "Contact Me" link to message her privately.

Lately, I've dealing a lot with getting Articulate-based content into Canvas, as we're migrating all of our courses to that LMS. (As I type this, I'm republishing content and uploading it to Canvas.) Here's what I've experienced:

  1. If the SL content is uploaded into Files, the player won't load. There's an initial load of the player interface, but playback gets stuck. On a few occasions, on a random day, the player loaded fine and the slides played. Then within a day or two, it was back to not loading.
  2. The workaround for the issue with uploading to Files was to publish everything for the LMS and use the SCORM tool for uploading. The SL content plays fine if I upload them using that method. However, I hate that the SCORM tool stores the uploads in the Assignments when, for us, they're not assignments. They're just viewable content.
  3. I had to remove an ampersand from the Title and Identifier of some of our content because it was causing the SCORM upload to fail.
  4. Regardless of how the files are uploaded, Canvas embeds the player in a web page in a way that makes the player too small. To get around that, I've had to enable the Launch Player in a New Window in the Player settings so that it displays at the proper size.
  5. Not pertinent to SL, but in the Studio 09 content that we have running on Canvas, any images that were embedded in Engage activities don't display. They display fine on the local machine and when uploaded to a different LMS, but not when running in Canvas.
