I have Next button to move the course forward but still my courses are automatically proceeding to the next slide even though I don't have any trigger saying to move to next slide once the timeline ends... even the Slide master doesn't have any triggers.
Did you import this from a PowerPoint? If so, it will automatically set the slide properties to "Advance Automatically". Which will advance to the next slide when the timelines ends after 5 seconds. You'll just want to change the slide properties to "Slide Advances - By User". You can do this on each slide, or from the Story View you should be able to highlight all of the slides, click slide properties in the bottom right and change it for all.
