Storyline and PowerPoint

Jul 01, 2013

Hey Guys

Been making head way with AS now and we can now use a lot of the functions/triggers/animation. It’s been a while but I thought I would ask, When are we going to see the PowerPoint style animation options (like, yes you guessed it, motion path)? It’s the one of the main things missing from storyline, that would make life so much easier in meeting my bosses requirements 1/2 the time the one thing presenter has over storyline.

Another thing I also wanted to ask. Why when I am creating a quiz, must I create it in multiple slides, when I used quizmaker, it was one enclosed slide? At the moment, I have had to create it in layers, to keep it contained, otherwise I could of have 10/15 separate slides for one quiz (15 layers, with 100000000000 triggers is bad enough)

 Thanks J

Quizmaker was always slide based, 1 slide equals 1 question they were just contained within quiz maker, this was ineffeicient because if you had 200 questions in quizmaker these all need to load before the quiz was available.

In storyline it only reads three slides ahead , of course you could just delete them from the menu.

I am sure we will get motion paths at some point but I expect this will be a v2 feature.

Hi Keith

If you prefer the Quizmaker style of quizzes where all questions are delivered together through one slide you could always use the Question Bank feature. It is used mainly in Storyline to introduce randomisation into quizzes but you don't have to randomise if you don't want to, and can present all the questions, or just some.
