Storyline Project Activity
Jun 08, 2020
Hi,
I am trying to build a storyline interaction were the learner applies tape to the battery contacts. I have tried to do a drag and drop and also to build in alternate states of the piece of tape but none of my attempts have created an activity that results in the learner placing the tape on all the contacts and the tape staying each time they place it. Any help or ideas are greatly appreciated. I have attached the slides related to my issue.

Hi Melanie, I am not sure what exactly you want to build. So here I took a guess. Showing different states of tape on the different dropped positions you will need triggers. I added triggers to your file and you may take a look if that's what you want.
Hi Melanie,
In the attached version of your original file, I have set the state changes to occur when the user drags the tape over the contacts rather than when the user drops the tape on the contacts. What this then does is to change the state of the respective battery to a taped state and then returns the tape to its original position when the user releases the mouse button. The user can then use the same tape on the next battery without losing the taped state on the previous one. Not sure if this is what you are after, but hopefully it gives you some ideas to work on.
Note; there are three triggers required for the yellow Ni-Cd battery as it needs a Taped+ve, Taped-ve and fully Taped state.
Thank you both for the quick responses! My apologies Joanne that I did not explain well. Ned figured it out. I should have stuck with Triggers. I thought I needed to do Drag and Drop which was not working. Thank you both!
