Tab interaction with videos

Oct 29, 2020

Hey,

I want to create a tab interaction to show 5 different videos which I have recorded with Camtasia.

The challenge is that the storyline size should be 1200 × 720 and the videos should be nearly the same format.

Do you have any idea how I can design one slide to meet the requiremenrs?

Thanks in advance

Hi, Dominik,

Tab interactions often use layers. But since you need all the slide space for the videos, do this instead:

  • Put each video on its own slide.
    • Keep the PREV button, or create a custom one. You could program this slide so it only shows after the video completes.
    • Turn off the NEXT button, and any other Player features (such as the Menu) that you don't want users to access while watching the video.
  • Set the triggers for the interactive tabs to jump to the appropriate video slide.

Hey Dominik and welcome to E-Learning Heroes! 🙂 In addition to Judy's great suggestion, I just wanted to chime in and share this free video gallery template Montse created if you'd like to use it. You may need to make a few tweaks to make sure it fits with your video dimensions, but it's a great place to start and has five tabs for the five videos you mentioned. I hope that helps!
