Template ideas?

Just wondering if anyone has
template ideas for me.  I'm working with someone who liked some old lessons I did (see example) because I didn't use bullets and she liked how the design let your eye go to straight to what you should read with the character bubbles (we're limited and can't use much audio).  However, she doesn't think she wants to use a character.  So I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas for a template design that doesn't use bullet points or bubble call out, but clearly calls out (through design and/or color) the points that need to be made.  (Note: the new content is a process and a color is assigned to each step so I'll need to design something similar to the one that I included here.)

I appreciate any ideas you can give me!
