The "States" option

Sep 11, 2017

Hello, everyone.  I'm new to Articulate 360 and I'm practicing with Practice File (02A_Build_First_Slide_360.Story).  When I insert a New Slide to practice what I've learned so far, and get to the point where I have to create a placeholder for my first hover button, I'm told to go down and click States, then EDIT STATES, however the only options that exist are Timeline and Notes.  Usually "States" can be found in the middle of Timeline and Notes.  Can someone tell me where the States option disappeared to?  I'm anxious to continue learning.

Thanks,

Donald Edwards

Hi Donald,

Welcome to the community, thanks for posting your question here! We're so glad to hear you're diving into Articulate 360.

That is a frustrating issue you've encountered! One thing to consider... The States panel is a movable panel. Is it possible you accidentally moved itor undocked it from it's original location?

You can dock and undock the Notes, States, Timeline, Trigger and Layers panels by clicking the icon highlighted in this image:

If you can find your States panel and click that icon again, it should return it to its original location next to the Timeline and Notes tabs. Or you can also click Redock All Windows from the View tab of the Storyline ribbon.

Hope this helps resolve your issue Donald :)
