Thoughts on this mini-lesson
Oct 30, 2014
I was really happy to see that Storyline had been updated to SL2. I finally downloaded it and created the linked mini-lesson in two days. It took a while since I've been out of work for 3 months and forgot a few tricks.
Anyway, to me, it's basic. I know there are a lot more things I could do with this lesson:
- make it a real lesson on ADDIE
- create scenarios
- turn it into a story
But...I would also like to know more about what I could do to the functionality, as well. I wanted to be able to create triggers based upon what the slides layers did, but realized I couldn't do that...unless of course, I'm missing something...maybe variables? And if it's variables, then I need to school myself on how to create them.
Anyway, take a look at the linkedĀ ADDIE Process mini-lesson and let me know what you think.

Great work, Cathy!
Love the use of audio (the narration is very smooth and well done) and I like the custom size of the course as well as the great use of graphics and animations. Also, the topic is very on-point for all of us ID's and e-learning designers.
Thanks for sharing your example with the community!
Thanks Nicole. Creating something based upon what you know is a whole lot easier than flying blind. It certainly helps having this community around to share ideas and improve upon skills, too. I'm still evolving that particular lesson, too. Hoping to have it evolved before the SL2 trial runs out. By the way...I'm liking this latest version. Still much for me to figure out, but it's been interesting using it so far.
