Tic Tac Toe Game Error

Dec 27, 2016

I hope you have time to take a look. I created a game and can't seem to find where the glitch is - the following layers would not appear after testing via preview (or publishing): winner d1, winner d2, winner v1, and winner v2. I have asked my colleagues raised to AS2 Support but the resolution given was to use more slides than do layers which would not be feasible as the game is part of a bigger project.

The said layers would sometimes show based on the order that I answered the questions. Example: winner v1 did not show when I answered the questions in order, but it did appear when I answered q1 then q7 then q4.

I hope you can help me resolve this. Thanks!

Hi there,

On the base layer, Hide 1 does not have all the triggers as the other "Hides" it seems to be missing the 'correct' trigger. Also I noticed that there is inconsistency on the ordering of triggers, this sometimes can cause issues. i.e. Q1 trigger order is Show layer/Change State and Q3 trigger order is Change State/Show Layer. I typically change state THEN I move.

I created a similar game but used number variables for each row/column/diagonal and when the learner answered questions I updated each impacted variable with accordingly, when a variable reached specific number, I display the win layer, lose or tie layer and would simply unhide the drawn line on the base layer. Hope it helps.

Thanks for taking the time to check, Kevin. I will try this solution and let you know what happens. I appreciate it! Happy new year!!!
