Time to be proficient in Studio/Storyline
Apr 03, 2014
Does anyone have a rough no. of hours it takes to become highly skilled in Articulate Storyline and Studio?
I'm aware of Omniplex training which holds a 3 day course in the UK but that would be around 20 odd hours total.
So enough to get a foundation to build on.
I'm curious about how many hours of creation and experimentation and learning you would need to get to an upper-intermediate and then advanced level.
I'm sure this is reflected more in the quality of courses produced and the amazing technical and design ability that members of the E-Learning Heroes community possess.
This isn't a question looking for a shortcut. If it takes 300 to 3000 hours then I can understand that.
I'm also aware that Storyline and Studio are different products.
Thank you to the community and all replies are appreciated.

Hey Nicholas, David Anderson has a weekly community challenge to help people flex their design muscles so to speak. The challenges are fun and it is a non-judgemental place to show your work. It might be a good place for you to start if you are looking build a portfolio.

+1's all around!
Hi! First post here. I am really impressed with the support from the community in this forum. I have used PowerPoint a little over the years, but came upon Tom's blog and have learned over the last 5 months an enormous amount about PowerPoint. I had no idea how powerful it is! The step by step instructions are exactly the way I learn. I redesigned a whole PowerPoint presentation I gave in November using the green bulb template and other things I learned from his blog. With all of the free stuff offered on this site I am considering purchasing Storyline for myself. I believe the amount of time it takes to get proficient and then more skilled is based on motivation, learning ability, and practice. I see now that the more I use the sills I learn the better I am getting. Each project seems to be better than the last. And when I look back I see how I would have done each previous project differently using new skills. I love it!
Great to see you here John, a warm welcome. Just ask when you need to.
