Tracking an X answers out of Y possible choices in an LMS?

Apr 22, 2013

Hi everyone:  I posted this screenr last week and there have been some questions around how it can be tracked within and LMS (if even possible).  https://player.vimeo.com/video/149071945

My particular LMS will only score pass/fail of a test.  I get no individual question scoring from it (don't even ask).

Can anyone here give some better specifics to the question posted below?  Thank you in advance.

From vnap:

I have explored this solution previously, except the issue is that the user could click the same item 3x (or click, deselect and choose another) but the counter would not decrease. I believe a workaround would be to set the variable as such: "Add 1.00 to CountingVariable when user clicks the submit button If Button X's state is equal to selected." This ensures that the correct buttons are still selected when the interaction is submitted.
Also - any way to track responses with SCORM this way?

Tracy,

I'm not sure if our situations are exactly the same, but we had the challenge of storing variables into an LMS/offline database, and also reading them back in again / filling variables when learners logged in again. This was with custom-built user input - for some things we didn't want to use standard Storline quizzing. We found John Faulkes on the forum (http://community.articulate.com/members/johnfaulkes/default.aspx) who helped us build a great solution.  We also want to use PayPal with an LMS and he's doing that for us too.

We'd most definitely recommend him if you are looking for custom work. He and his partner worked above and beyond the call of duty to provide exactly what we needed.
