Tracking Ratings in a Self-Assessment

Oct 23, 2017

In a course on Emotional Intelligence, we have six traits we're asking users to rate themselves on by selecting between 1-5 for various statements. Ideally, we'd like a slide that lists their self-reported ratings for each trait all in one place (i.e. I rated myself as a 5 for statements 2, 4, 7, and 12 so my self-awareness rating is 20 etc.). What is the best way to do this?

Good day RheaAnne.

If I understand correctly, you want to simulate the behavior found in a typical Likert scale? I have created a prototype for a custom Likert scale that I have attached herewith for you.

The scale itself is a single object with 6 states indicating each choice. I added a hotpot on each number / selection that hosts the logic for the actual number submission as well as to change the state of the aforementioned shapes. These selections are then stored into variables (you can name these accordingly) called LikertResponse1 - 6.

On the confirmation / results page, I use a simple variable reference text box to post the users selection on the previous page.

I hope this example points you in the right direction :)

PS: The same feat can be achieved with a slider, but it might require a lot more tinkering to get it to look and work the way you want.

Regards,

Joey
