Trouble keeping objects hidden
Dec 01, 2017
I have created a programme in which the base layer has several objects that are animated (i.e arrows flying in from the top), these animations begin 3 seconds into the slide. However when I have created a new layer and ensured the animated objects on the base layer are selected as hidden on the timeline, they still appear three seconds in on other layers. How can I ensure these objects are only visible when the user is on the base layer only, and that they stay hidden if the user clicks onto other layers?
N.B. I understand that you can hide the entire base layer in the 'slide layer properties' box however I do not want to hide the entire base layer just a select few animated objects.

Hi Jacqueline,
Have you tried giving the arrows a disabled state and then set a trigger so they are disabled when the layers are open? You might need to add in a variable to trigger the trigger if that makes sense.
Good luck.

Hi Jacqueline,
Whatever the trigger is to show the layer, you can add an additional one before it to set the state of the object to hidden. I put this together quickly to see if that helps.
Hi Christian
Your Storyline attachment won't open for me, because it was created in a: "Newer product version". Can you attach a file for Storyline 2 viewing?
