Truly interactive videos
Jul 09, 2020
Is it possible to have interactions with videos built in SL360 actually be interactive when you publish the course as a VIDEO?
I can insert a video, edit it, add layers or lightboxes with knowledge check questions, and when I preview it, everything works as programmed, but when I publish the slide/scene/project as a video there is no interactivity whatsoever. The video plays, the layer/lightbox comes up as programmed, but you are not able to select an answer in the knowledge check question.
Am I missing something, or is this just not possible within SL360?
Please let me know if there is a way to do this.
Thanks for your help,
Paula

That's not possible with any video.
Video is essentially a stream of linear frames. Any interactive video examples you find online whether YouTube or something else has some sort of overlay on top of the video. In that sense it's no different than a video in Storyline with interactive objects on top of it.
Tom - could HapYak or similar be an approach?
Kinda what I thought, but thought I'd ask. Thank you, Tom!
HapYak has the interactivity, but again, it doesn't come from the video itself.
