Using Audio in Scenario Course

Mar 27, 2012

Hi.

Any thoughts on including audio in a short public course? I'm creating two short scenario decision making courses - one for middle school youth and one for their parents. The topic is about prescription drug abuse awareness and prevention.  The slides will include character dialogue bubbles.  Slide branching will be built in for users to explore difference choices and consequences. Given the verbal nature of reading the dialogue (almost like a comic book) I think audio narration for each slide would be redundant and distracting.  Also, given the public dissemination of the course one assumption is that users may not have audio or cannot access it in a public setting.  Introductory and summary narration does seems like a good fit.  Any thoughts?  I've reviewed some samples out there - including the ones on Tom Kuhlmann's blog. Audio is not included.

Thank you.

Paula
