Using markers to avoid redundancy

Hi everyone! I am creating a course with a few text-heavy slides and I’m thinking about how to avoid the redundancy issue of voiceover and text.
My idea is to insert one Audio marker per slide that allows the learner to hear the audio for the slides they choose. This way, if they prefer to read, they don’t have to select the marker, but if they’d rather have the slide read aloud, they have that option.
I would love to hear from others who have done this to find out pros/cons of this technique.

Hi Jill! You’re not alone. Redundant on-screen text is a common challenge. Have you seen this community example on the redundancy principle? Sometimes it helps to break up the content in different ways. This article gives some great ideas on how to turn text-heavy content into engaging interactions. I hope that helps!
Thank you Sarah for those examples. I will definitely keep those design ideas in mind!
