Using Mind Map Theory

Oct 28, 2016

Hi David, I spent some time on you tube whre you guys have made some very useful time to explain articulate "doings". Since my experience is low Level so far - I found Mind Map Theory very interesting. In the presentation by Tom K referred to more info about how to use Mind Map Theory making the design of the course to //bir.ly/com/ elearn-heroes "How do I create my first course". I have not been able to find more depht info how to use the ideas making a course design using this Maind Map intro I found in Toms intro to the subject  in the youtube video. Please make my day and introduce where to find more in depth info of using Mind Map designing a course. I found the intro so interesting due to what unexperienced designers should have as a starter meny for making the  courses. Thinking of what to use of colors, themes, picures an so on...

I do not use mind mapping for my course design, but I know some people who can't live without it.

When defining elements of the course design, there are many factors that influence its content, depending on who/what/where you are creating a course for.

For example, in an organization I worked I was forced to use their branding template for building course, and it was completely out of the questions for me to integrate any other color scheme. I had no choice in that respect.

In other instances, I had to accommodate for one person's idea of a proper course, and she hated the use of visuals. So I ended up with a poorly designed course containing a bunch of bullet points read over.

When there's creative freedom, then my philosophy is to include the minimum possible decoration, and every element that is included should add educational value to the given idea that i am demonstrating or teaching. "If it doesn't add to what they are learning, it's out of the slide".

I hope this helps.
