Using the Articulate iPad app without saving to library

Jan 19, 2014

Is it possible to use the Articulate iPad app to view a course without saving it to a user's library?  I want them to be able to view it but not be able to save it.

Hi Nancy,

Thank you for your response.  If you're referring to the "Allow downloading for offline viewing" setting, I did uncheck that option.  The result is that it doesn't work on the Articulate app on my iPad.  Do you know if this is this an issue on my part, meaning my iPad is doing wierd or does that option just not allow the app to access the content?

Hi Trent - that option should allow the app to access the content when you have an active internet connect. It just prevents users from storing the course on their iPad.

How are you trying to access the course? Have you uploaded it to a Learning Management System (LMS) or web server?  It has to up accessible via the internet before you can view it on your iPad.

Keep in mind that if you want the course to communicate with an LMS, you have to publish the LMS output as Tin Can API and your LMS has to support that format.
