Utilizing a Pre-Test plus Exam in Articulate
Jan 13, 2012
Hi everyone,
I am trying to create a course that includes a pre-test that gives the users the option to skip the course content if they pass with a 90%. The following are the scenarios I am trying to achieve:
1. Pass pre-test (only has 1 try) = skip the content and is automatically redirected to the last page.
2. Fail pre-test / Pass exam = go through content and when they pass the exam, redirected to the last page.
3. Fail pre-test / Fail exam = go through content and when they fail the exam, redirected to the beginning of the course content.
I'm not able to achieve the above (and read several forums and blogs regarding this). It could be because we have an LMS. When I track the course using the number of slides they hit (which would be all of them), the users that pass the pre-test will not get a completion code. I wouldn't be able to track the course using the test scores because it will only let me choose one test.
I tried looking for several workarounds but cannot figure it out. Please help!!

Great question... I am very curious what people have done to achieve this. I am in a similar position.
Anyone got some input?

Could you set up the pre-test as a separate module? Learners who pass would get credit for the course, learners who fail would be directed to register and take the regular course.
Good idea, I am thinking that is really the only solution. I am actually testing that out today. Challenge for me is to make it is less cumbersome as possible. If a learner has to click several things just get get 1 course done they may not be happy.
Anyone else have any creative/out of the box ideas???
Dan
