Video and SL3

I added a video to my module using SL3. I added a video control bar at the bottom to start the video but I don't want the learners to be able to scroll through the video. They need to watch it before advancing to the next slide. I do not want to add a Seekbar to the module ( I tried it and was not what I need).
How do I get that to happen? A trigger? Or a condition on a trigger? Or am I going down the wrong hole? Thanks so much for your help.

Hi Ada,
Can you please share your source file.

Hi Ada,
You could add a couple of buttons with triggers, play, pause and restart.

Kim.
Would that keep the learners from dragging the bar to the end of the video? Or take out the video control and add the buttons?
Hi Raja, do you mean the video? Or the entire project? I'm new to eLearning and have no idea what I am doing. Thanks for your help.
To prevent learners from scrubbing past the video, I would simply remove the control bar.
Les, thanks for the response. I did remove the control bar but that will not stop learners from clicking the "next button". I need to know how to stop the next button from being active until the video ends. Can you help?
Hi Ada,
You can hide the Next button when timeline starts , and change the state of it when the timeline ends. I added a story file in which you can see the example of it.
THANK YOU Ridvan, this was exactly what I needed. I now have the slide working as I needed. You are a life saver!
My pleasure Ada,
I'm glad it helped.
Ridvan,
I hope I can impose another question related to what you provided. If the learner moves forward in the presentation but returns to the video slide (either by accident or purposely), the "next" button gets hidden again, forcing the learner to endure the video again. What do I need to do to keep that from happening? I hope you can visualize that I mean. If not, Thanks for your assistance.
Sorry, Ada. I totally forgot about it. It can be solved by using different methods. I used a shape to solve it.
Initial state of the shape is Hidden, it changes when the timeline finishes.
I added another trigger as; change the state of Next button to Normal when the timeline starts if the shape is Normal.
You might be able to prevent this by setting the slide properties to “resume saved state”. This won’t require any additional triggers.
Hi Ridvan,
Thanks for the updated info! I tried it out and was not able to replicate the results the way your story worked. The good thing is the Client decided the video was not needed (due to very poor quality) so I will be removing it. But I would appreciate it if you would take a look at what I did (see attached) as I am sure that will come up in the future.
Nancy, thanks for responding. I tried what you suggested but wasn't able to get it to work. But that is fine because the video was of very poor quality and the Client decided not to use it
Hi Ada,
Next button seems to work as you wish :)
By the way, I tried what Nancy suggested too, and I don't understand why it doesn't resume the save state when I use the Previous button.
That is strange. I’ll have to test it out. It should work.
