I need recommendations for the best video camera would be to produce short videos for articulate based e-training? Any thoughts would be most helpful as I have yet to include videos in my e-training.
I would like to be under $750 if possible. My biggest concern is ease of use and developing short videos that will be compatible with Articulate and PowerPoint.
You will get a lot of mileage out of a DSLR or similar type camera where you can take both digital photos and great HD video. The video is then typically recorded on a sandisk that you can easily connect to your computer. The main feedback I have read in the forum is to make sure there is an audio input connection on the camera so that you can connect a microphone directly into the camera. If the camera only has an on-board microphone, it will pick up a lot of ambient sound and that's not a good thing if you are interviewing someone or recording someone speaking on location.
I have a Sony DSC HX100 (under $500). It has great low light/ambient light capabilities and the HD video is also impressive. Unfortunately it does not have an audio input connection. I did record my daughters high school choral concert with it and was impressed with the audio from the onboard microphone.

Hi Leslie!
Do you have an idea for how much you can spend on a video camera?

A couple of weeks ago there was a similar discussion with some great feedback.
