video editing programs

Oct 06, 2011

hello everyone,

I am trying to find a good program to do video editing for adding to elearning as well as for creating DVD files.  I know of:

Windows Movie Maker

Jaycut which is not active right now

and adobe premiere elements

is there any other ones that are not too expensive?

I've been using Pinnacle (now Avid) Studio for years. The basic program is $60, and I believe they offer a free 14-day trial. It provides multiple audio and video tracks, titling, DVD creation, chroma keying and more. For about $100 or so you can get a complete package that includes additional special effect and editing options and even a green screen.

Sony Vegas is another well-known tool (although I haven't used it myself) starting at $45.
