I will be recording video tutorials on various software applications and would like to have the ability to 'zoom in' on certain areas of the screen occasionally during the video. I currently have Screenpresso, but it seems to lack this functionality. Any suggestions on what video software does this effectively?
I love TechSmith's Camtasia Studio which can, among other things, do zoom and pan.
David Anderson posted a screenr about Microsoft's zoomit which can be used with Screenr to "zoom, pan, and annotate." His screenr is here: https://player.vimeo.com/video/204930472
It costs $299 for Windows Verison, not sure about the Mac. It's a good piece of software to have for screen capturing and full motion recording. I actually prefer it to Captivate.
They have a 30 day trial you can download from their website. Just did that and am messing around with it as we speak. Looks pretty good so far. Definitely has some easy-to-use zooming features. Thanks for the input Rebecca!
There are educational and volume discounts. This is some of the BEST money I've ever spent, aside from Articulate of course! And no, I don't work for the company!
Very easy to use, IMHO, and good support. Not quite up to this community's standards, but close second. And there are few companies I say that about.

Hi Rebecca,
Is TechSmith's Camtasia Studio free? Is it easy to use? I tried using Zoomit, but did not have much control over the part that you zoom in.
