I have a project where my video, on base layer, stops at a cue point triggering a layer interaction. For this exercise, I trigger back to the video using using a hot spot, but can't figure out how to get the video to automatically play to the next cue point.
Add triggers to the baselayer's timeline that shows the various layers when cue points are reached. Set the properties of the layers so that they pause the baselayer's timeline. Here is a quick example: http://dev.keypointlearn.com/xcl73_SL2/VideoStops/V1/story.html
Looking at my project, I added a trigger that pauses the timeline for each cue point in addition to my showing layer and pausing base layer’s timeline. Is this overkill whereby I don’t need the extra triggers to pause timeline? Hope I’m making myself clear.
There is no need to explicitly pause/resume the baselayer timeline with triggers. Just have the slide layer pause the base timeline, which will then automatically resume, once a layer is hidden
Ahhh, that was valuable information thank you. What I then need to do is to change the state of my layers to hidden when the learner clicks on the correct step.

That's how I set up my example. Clicking on the caption in a layer hides the layer, which in turn resumes the baselayer's timeline.

Thanks for your help and extending yourself on my behalf. After much trial and error my teammate found out what went wrong. 1. I was hiding the video on the base layer 2. in layer properties, I had to uncheck hide objects on base layer and uncheck prevent the user from clicking on the base layer. Don't understand why, but it works fine. Interesting problem.
Again my thanks for your time and effort to help me. I have layered my project and paused the timeline in each layer property. My layers work fine, however, I was hoping that the time in between each cue point I might see the video play. The video is stagnant and shows the same screen as when the the first interaction began. It this normal or is there something I need to do to get the video moving?

Yes, that makes sense and I have done just that. However, the timeline does not automatically resume after I hide the layer. Any suggestions?
Can you post your file here, so that we can have a closer look?
Michael,
Here you go. Thanks for the extra help line.

Hi Glen, you beat me to it. I was just going to suggest that, as it was the only difference between my example and your file.
Don't understand why that had something to do with it, but hey, it worked. Thanks again.
