Visited State- trigger conflict?
May 30, 2019
Hello again community,
I am spending way too much time on trying to figure this out. I’m not sure if it’s a glitch or if there is some sort of conflict with the triggers I’m using.
The colored boxes are disabled until the media ends on each slide (layer). After each layer is viewed and the back button is clicked, I want the boxes to go to a visited state (gray). Most will do it – others will not.
Does someone have time to have a look?
Thank you!

It is odd that you are using jump to slide instead of hide layer for the layers. That may be what is confusing everything.
Visited state should be automatic
Because you use jump to some of your tiggers orders are incorrect because anything after a jump trigger will not work
I'm not sure what you mean- or why it looks like this post is "reported". I didn't report you:-)
I would use the hide layer trigger instead of jump to this slide.
If you want to keep the jump to trigger then any trigger below a jump to trigger will have to be moved above the jump to trigger if not it will not work.
I don't think you reported anything it is just an automatic response to posting too quickly.
I'm sorry I'm so confused. Where would you 'hide layer'? Main layer? Everything seems to work except the visited state for the memory box. I'm stressing because I have 6 of these types of slides and all are not working perfectly-in one way or another.
On each layer instead of using jump to slide, I would use hide layer, this is probably a more elegant solution as the slide would not reload each time you hide a layer.
I have rationalised it a bit got rid of unesceary triggers, used the states initial states instead of using triggers to set them. Seems to work ok. File should be attached.
Thanks Phil,
Now I understand. I made the changes and things seems to work. It’s great to learn something new each day! Thank you for taking the time to help me. Much appreciated.
No problem. Glad it helped, Storyline lets you do thing so many ways, some ways are more efficient/elegant. In the end though most things work.
