Visual design - help
Jul 23, 2020
Hi!
I hope you can help me out. I've been designing in Articulate Storyline for about a year now. I understand the mechanics but I believe that I still lack the 'creativity' in designing visual appealing courses. Does anyone want to share experiences on how you can learn to create appealing courses? I'm already having a look at websites like Udemy to find online courses focussed on visual design but can't really find a good one.
Thanks in de advance!

Hi Wiebe,
Whenever I'm stuck for design inspiration, I go to www.canva.com.
You can sign up for a free account and create some amazing designs with very little experience. I recently discovered their presentation templates (https://www.canva.com/templates/search/presentations/), where you can choose your category (i.e. „Education“, „Business“, etc.) and then choose from multiple templates (containing 10-15 pre-designed „slides“) to play with. They are mostly in 16:9 (1920x1080 px) format and you can edit them any way you like. Then download the slides as a Powerpoint presentation (.ppt) or as graphics (.png or .jpg) and import those into your Storyline course. You can then add the interactivity / hotspots / additional graphics to the course afterwards.
I hope that helps get the creative juices flowing… Have fun! :)
Cheers,
Anne
