I am new to using PowerPoint to create e-learning modules. My question is, once my slides are completed, what format should I save the presentation in so that it will run on a browser?
When you've finished creating content in Studio or Storyline, you'll likely want to look at publishing to web. That will create a collection of files in a published output folder - you'll need all those files uploaded to your web server to be able to play the content in your intended environment. You didn't say which tool you were using, but since you mentioned Powerpoint, I've assumed Studio and linked to the corresponding documentation above.
