What's your process for managing revisions to e-learning in Rise & Storyline?

Sep 25, 2018

I am not sure if this is the place to pose this question, but I'm wondering how other multi-language teams are handling translations (particularly revisions) in both Storyline and Rise.

Our revision process for most anything involves providing the English version with changes highlighted/strikethrough and our translators are able to use their original translation copy to map to these areas and update them in Trados. Of course, this won't work for me, the instructional designer, with .xliff files, as I am unable to edit them in this manner.

On top of that, reimporting translation text exports would break all the proofing work we have done with our translators to fix linebreaks and overset text, etc.

We work with 13 languages, and purchasing 13 additional seats of the products for our NPO does not seem cost-effective so that they can make the occasional revision.
