I am currently using Presenter and I cannot find a way to limit the number of re-takes. We are rolling out our first portion of our LMS and really need to be able to limit the number of takes.
I can guess that "re-takes" means limit the quantity of attempts in quiz. I tried to solve a similar problem with Studio and LMS Efront. Until now, I have no clear answer how to limit the number of attempts and where to do it - properties for SCORM-package or in eFront environment.
You can limit the number of attempts on a question in Articulate products but this is per session. To limit the number of attempts for a user you will need to use the options with the LMS
Ahh yes, if this is an issue regarding the number of retakes of course, that is an LMS setting. BUT, I can't think of any LMS that I've worked with in the past that would allow you to do that. This could vary from LMS to another.
Obviously, once they complete the course, a record of completion will be made...however, there would need to be some sort of variable or setting that would prevent the user from enrolling in the course again to complete it.
Yes, I do mean to total number of times someone can take an assessment. One of the first comments out of someone's mouth when discussing eLearning was that they would just give their user ID and password to everyone and have them take the course.

Can you provide more information as to what you mean by "re-takes." Are you referring to audio recording re-takes?

Then it is the LMS, unless you use storyline and set three attempts and set it to force resume
So Storyline does have a total attempts that Presenter does not?
Storyline will allow you to force resume, so you allow the user three attempts on each question and then force resume.
Presenter gives you the choice to resume or not.
Really though this is a function of the LMS, but not all LMS's allow this
