Which tools to use?

May 22, 2013

Hi!  We are creating internal eLearning resources, and just got access to an LMS to host "real" courses.  Right now most of our resources are text and link heavy word docs on a SharePoint.  If our two goals are to create rapid "micro-Learning" resources for JIT/on demand needs, and to create a more formalized set of onboarding resources for new faculty, sales, and project managers, which authoring tools might be best?  What are the essential differences between Storyline and Studio?

Hi Karissa,

I second Bruce's warm welcome. Without a doubt there is some personal preference involved. I highly recommend that you download trial versions of each. I got started with Studio and loved it. Now that I'm working with Storyline I love it even more. It's very intuitive so if you just want click-n-read slides, you could jump in and do that after watching one introduction tutorial. At the same time, it's also a very powerful tool and you can create amazingly interactive courses without knowing a thing about programming.

Good luck on your project. I hope we see you in the forums again!
