I have built a page with 4 layers, like I have done many times before. This time, however, the layers appear washed out as if there is a faded white mask over them. What am I doing wrong?
Where are you seeing this? If it’s in dev mode, it may be the base layer you’re seeing through/over your layers... you could try hiding and/or revealing objects on the base layer to see??
If you still see it like that in preview or published view, then I’d start looking for the buddy that pranked you with a faded white mask over your layers. 😉
Unfortunately there was no prank I'm afraid. I tried various different things including your suggestions and still saw the masked layers. My instance has been a little touchy lately so maybe that is the deal...I'll keep checking
