I have a ppt slide that I inserted a Wordle image on. I set the background to transparent, but when I publish the file the background is black. Why doesn't the background stay transparent after I publish the file?
I'm inserting it into PowerPoint by Insert >> Picture. Yes the background for the image is black when viewed in Presenter. I didn't do anything with the \data\swf files.
Here's what it looks like in PowerPoint:

Looks like you're using a custom skin... just curious if you've tried publishing using one of the default players? Shouldn't make any difference, but just going through the easy troubleshooting ideas
What's strange is that image looks black (non-transparent) in the browser.
Can you share how you're creating your image? After you create your word cloud in Wordle, how are you getting the transparency from Wordle? And from Wordle, are you taking the image straight into PowerPoint or are you first opening it in a graphics app?
Somehow, somewhere, your transparency is getting lost and the images is reverting to solid bg... just gotta figure out where that's occurring.
I create the Wordle. Then I do a screen capture with Snagit and save it as a png. Then I insert the png into PowerPoint. Once the image is inserted into PowerPoint, I use the Format >> Recolor >> Set Transparent Color and remove the black background.

Hi Brandy,
How are you inserting the transparent Wordle image? Is the background black when viewed in Presenter?
The default color of Presenter's background is black... any chance one of the bg files was deleted from \data\swf?

I think it is the image, have you tried saving it out as a png and reinserting?

Here's the image. I tried publishing it using the default player and still have the same issue.

Cool. Can you try this:
That seems to fix everything.
That worked! Thanks for all of your help!
Hey glad to hear that
Just wanted to say I ran into this same issue today and this conversation saved me a big headache. Thanks!
Cool and thanks for letting us know Sarah. Transparency isn't the most intuitive part of saving and working with images.
