Your Favorite "Meanings" for the Term "LMS"
Mar 18, 2011
It's been a week . . . . :( There really has to be a special place in heaven (or that "other place") for those who support, administer or manage LMS's.
So resurrecting a thread from the "old forums" on our favorite definitions for the term "LMS."
From the old thread, LMS means . . .
- Lousy Manual System
- Losin' My Sanity
- Left (with) Malfunctioning SCORM
- Let Me Smash
- Let's Manure (the) System
- Listen, make
SCORM!"
And now my fav from this week, given to us from another LMS user here . . .
- Large Margarita With Salt (please)
Anyone got any others?

Thanks, Joe! That's worth 5
Still ROTFLMAO with the last one . . .
Le' Monetary Sinkhole
Would your accept the variation of "Le' Monetary Stinkhole"?
Haha - an even better molestation and abuse of Frenglish concatenation.
Well, to go along with that, and to bring in a touch of Broadway, "Les Mis Suceur."
On the basis that many "LMS"s become servers full of unmaintained files that no-one wants or asked for in the first place, with limited learning application, I would humbly submit:
Lots - mostly sucks.
Bruce
Or to "admonish" learners when they get confused by the LMS: (Just) "Learn the Miserable System." The LMS equivalent of RT_M.
I once read something that said a LMS is like a tatoo - it costs a lot and it's hard to get rid of... So, how 'bout Large Money Sinkhole!
(Although I really like Bruce's comment)
