I have a Presenter course with several interactions. For most slides, the pause/play button pulses at the end of the narration. For Engage slides, I'm requiring users to click each tab, but even when they click the last tab, the pause/play button doesn't flash. Is there a way to change this? If I allow them to exit the interaction without clicking all, will this make the pause/play button flash?
"You may find that an Engage '09 interaction in a Presenter '09 presentationdoes not fully complete if the last step of the interaction contains audio. If this occurs, you may notice that the Play button on the Presenter player does not flash to indicate that the viewer is able to proceed, or you may not be able to proceed to the next slide if the navigation in your player template is set to Restricted.
You can correct this issue.
Here's how:
Open your presentation in PowerPoint.Navigate to the interaction slide, and click the Edit in Engage button.When Engage launches, select the last step of your interaction.Click the Edit Audio button.When the Audio Editor launches, either delete a small portion of silence at the end of the audio waveform, or insert 1 second of silence at the end of the audio waveform. Essentially, you want to slightly change the duration of this last step in the interaction. Click the Save & Close button.Click the Save and Return to Presenter button. Republish your presentation."
Yes, it did. Unfortunately I have no less than 85 Engage interactions that need the treatment, so opening, editing audio, and republishing is quite time consuming. Hopefully the good folks at Articulate are working on a fix for this. Articulate's support is top-notch!
I discovered that this error occurs when I replace an swf file in the engage interaction folder without republishing the presentation.
So, I made some edits to the data.xml file within the engage interaction folder.
I tried tweaking the value within the duration attribute of the image tag and it worked well. That ways I did not have to republish the presentation. Basically I reduced the value by a couple of hundreds and in some instances by a little more than thousand. Of course, there was some bit of trial required. But I was able to resolve this in about 7-8 minutes for 4 engage interactions.
Wanted to know from the experts if this a good technique and also if its safe to use without creating further complications?
