Hi, one of my courses that I'm developing in Storyline requires me to provide feedback for a partially correct response. I'm currently unable to find a way to do this using the basic quiz layouts. For e.g. if I create a quiz question slides:
Q) Which of the following are even numbers?
a) 2
b) 4
c) 5
To which the correct combination is of course option a) and b). However if the user selects only option a) and clicks Submit, I want to display a feedback message that states something to the effect of "That's not entirely correct, try again"
Can anyone help me with implementing this or suggest how I should approach this problem?
I attach a very rough demo to show you how this can be achieved.
Basically, I have built my own feedback layers (correct, partially correct and incorrect) and have used trggers to display the relevant layer based on the value of a number variable that assigns a score (10 points if 2 AND 4 = 'selected' when the user clicks on submit or 5 points if 2 OR 4 equal 'selected' when the user clicks on submit). The key is to have the triggers that assign the score above the trigger to submit the interaction - SL processes triggers from top to bottom so you want the score to be assigned before the the relevant feedback layer is displayed.
Any chance that this can be done to report on the partial marks? (i.e. will score via articulate online 5 points for 1 correct answer, 10 for both?)
If not- does anyone think this would be a good feature request? Seems to me that awarding partial marks on select all that apply type questions is a useful feature...
This discussion is a bit older - is there something that you need help with? Partial scoring is not yet a feature of any Articulate products, although you can do weighted scoring (providing scores by answer choice) for some question types!

The option to score by choice is available for Multiple Choice and Word Bank questions, but it sounds like you're looking at a Multiple Response and Pick Many questions, correct?

Does it work? I am also looking fo the same problem, Multi response, partly getting points for good answers. The one from Dave with hidden slides looked very complicated to me. Please let me know if you are still hanging on here;)

While workarounds exist, partial scoring would be an important improvement. Please do submit a feature request.

If I select 2, 4 and 5 it's correct as well in your example
Please implement scoring by answer (both positive and negative scores) for multiple response.
