creating a film strip effect in storyline
Oct 28, 2013
Hi, I was going to create a film strip effect whereby the user advances each 'frame' of the film through so that they can view each image in a scenario. So let's assume there are 5 frames or images in the sequence. I'd like the first image to slide out left but have the second image slide in from the right at the same time, so it looks like a seemless transition of the images. However, I can't figure out how to make one frame exit at the same time as the new frame comes in.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
David

Hi David,
You could use the fly out left, fly in right animations for the individual images and overlap them in the timeline so it looks seamless. Would that achieve your desired effect? I am having trouble picturing it.
You can use layers to achieve the desired effect using the fly-in/out animation as Marcel suggests. I've attached an example (preview the slide).
You could do the same type of thing on multiple slides. You just need to duplicate the images on each layer/slide so on the first layer/slide, an image flies in, and on the next layer/slide it flies out as the new one flies in.

Fun and fabulous work.
Hi David and welcome to E-Learning Heroes! Looks like you are getting some good suggestions/feedback on what you are trying to accomplish
Thanks everyone!
Thanks everyone for the replies. I'm playing around with the timings on the fly in/fly out actions on the layers and its looking good so far.
