custom quiz results in storyline

Aug 20, 2012

I am creating a multiple choice quiz in storyline, and would like to add custom results slides to each question.  Idealy, learners will submit the question and be directed to a results slide that corresponds with the answer selected.  Is this possible?  If so, is there a tutorial you can reference me to?

Traci,

I wanted to ask if what you were trying to basically do was to have feedback per question, which could be used for a skills gap analysis. If this is what you were trying to do, how did it work? Did you have the results slide linked to each question and based on the answer a different results slide was shown? How did you manage to do that?

I am actually trying to have some type of skills gap feedback. For example, after a quiz has been completed, a small but detailed report would inform the student of what skills they possess and where they lack. This would ideally be achieved by adding some type of string to each question, thereafter this string would be displayed on the results slide if the question was answered incorrectly.

Any ideas?

Hey Mohammad!

Yes, I was trying to provide feedback per question.  I wanted to have separate responses for each possible answer to the question, but if you are using scorm and want the submit button then you are limited to providing feedback based on whether the learner got the question right or wrong.   We are actually launching the course today, so hopefully learners will like this feature!  I personally think that giving feedback after questions is a novel idea because it helps reinforce learning.

The quiz templates in storyline already have two layers that prompts the learner whether the question was correct or incorrect.  If you double click on the layer you can link the prompt to a feedback slide.   Hope this helps! Let me know if I need to clarify.  The articulate staff might have a tutorial to help walk you through this process.

Best wishes with your course!
