SDK Question - Hopefully a simple one

So we are trying to add a thin image in the top bar of the player (in the same area where the course title and the Resources link live).  I don't want to add it to the slide master as that is not a road we want to go down.  I'm no programmer, so I don't understand ActionScript or any Flash programming that is associated with the SDK.  However, it looks like I might be able to insert an image by modifying the frame.xml file in the story_content folder.  If this is the case, can anyone direct me how I might do that?

Am I barking up the right tree?  Or am I trying to achieve something that's not possible without learning a new programming language (or 2)?
