360 photo and video support
We've got a Ricoh Theta 360 degree camera which we're using to create immersive learning experiences.
I'm trying to find out if Storyline 360 has support for 360 photos but having 360 in the product name makes searching hard!

Is this feature going to be added. We are evaluating adding Storyline 360 to replace Captivate 2019. If 360 photos and video are not going to be added, it will be a show stopper. 360 photos and video work seamlessly in Captivate and there are good tools to use in the 360 environment.

I was just told by Storyline sales team, they are looking at the market to see what the demand is for 360 photos and video. There is not timeline for implementing into the product. You will have to stay with Captivate to use 360 photos and video in your projects.
I am confused about what market they are looking at. VR is in demand especially in the 30 and younger demographic. The number of new products in the market place and at CES this year adequately demonstrates the trend of using VR environments. We are trying to keep our training revelent and focus on the new work force entering our manufacturing environments.

Sounds like code language for - "we can't figure out how to implement this properly" OR "developing this or licensing the technology is too expensive" They know there's a need for it!!

That would be unfortunate.
I have a project right now (Workplace Security) that would benefit greatly from at least some 360 photos. I already have a 360 camera. That and some hot spots would be simple work great.

It is very easy to do in Captivate. I am building a course right now and you can add all the hotspots and navigation right on the 360 image.

A co-worker, who is evaluating Storyline with me, ask "What does the 360 stand for, if the products cannot do 360 content". That is a very good question. Anyone know the answer?

Hi Shannon,
Thank you for inquiring about this feature!
While I don't have an update to share just yet, we are continuing to develop 360-degree media assets. You are in the right place, and we will be sure to provide an update as soon as we have news to share!
