Adding hot spots to an object state

Hello! It is I again!

Is it possible to add hotspots to a state of an object in Storyline? The option is grayed out when I am in edit states. I would like only a certain state of an object to allow the user to drag and drop onto it.

  • Thank you both! I ended up hiding the state I wanted hotspots on, then unhiding a separate image when the slider reached the value I wanted and adding the hotspot to the image. Where there is a will, there is a way!

  • Hi ELTE,

I'm happy to chime in. I'm glad that Ron and Andrew are helping you out here.

I think adding a hotspot to an object state is something that our product team can consider for a future release. I submitted a feature request on your behalf, and we'll let you know if there are any changes that might help. I appreciate you for finding a workaround in the meantime.

Enjoy the rest of your day! 😊

  • You might want to consider a layer.  On hover --> show layer "y" --> then on that layer put a hotspot.  I have not tried that before but hey, it might work.

  • It is not supported.  You could instead add conditions to your Drag and Drop Trigger.
