Audio volume too low when published in Articulate Review
I just spent a week recording narration for a module. It sounds fine on my headset. Even sounds fine when I preview it within Storyline 360. But when I published it out for review, the sound volume is so low, you can’t hear a thing and I have my volume maxed out. I tried maxing out the volume using the audio editor and the audio volume slider. How do I fix this without having to re-narrate the entire module? Why is it doing this and how do I prevent it in future projects?
Hey Jennifer! Happy to help you get to the bottom of this. Would you mind sharing a sample slide with me so I can compare the audio in Storyline to the audio in Articulate Review? I'll be standing by!

Hi is there any progress on this? I have the same Issue, volume is significantly lower when published to Articulate Review although in my case it is a video that has lowered volume (sound not recorded in storyline)
Hey Jonathan! Sorry you're running into the same issue. Would you mind sending us a sample slide so we can get a closer look at what's going on? Thanks!

Hi Alyssa, I don't know If I can send samples of this production out due to security policies, but it is still a major problem - all sound from the e-learning is significally lower when published (both in Articulate 360 for review and in LMS as a SCORM) than when viewing it in previewmode in Storyline. I'll try to anonymize the project or try to recreate the problem with other files and see if I can send it in.

That would be very helpful, Jonathan! And in case you need a sample MP3 file to use in place of your proprietary audio, you can use the file I attached here.

I have the same problem, but not on all slides. It seems to pick and choose. Also I have a slide, (one slide) that is haunting me. It will play fine, except the last 2 or 3 seconds, the audio is silent. I have re-recorded and then they were fine. Just now someone was reviewing the project and the same slide is cutting off again. I have another project, I just finished today with one slide doing the exact same thing. When I review before publishing it is fine. But Review after publication, the last 2 to 3 seconds of audio is missing! I have made sure I am not hitting mute on my headset or that I cut the recording off before I saved.
Hi Lynda,
That certainly sounds strange! I'm really curious to take a closer look at the one slide that is giving you trouble. Would you mind sharing it with me? You can even import that single slide into a new Storyline file to share the slide on it's own.
With your permission, you can send the slide to me privately by uploading it here. I'll delete it when I'm done troubleshooting.

I am needing to get this presentation to my supervisor, so I had to
re-publish. What I did was shorten the narrative. The original was 2 1/2
minutes long. It sounds fine to me, but when another person listens to it,
is when it messes up. Let me let them review and if it still is of
concern, then we know we have an issue. If not, then we know time is a
factor.Thank you so much for your response. If it happens again, I will save the
slide and send it to you.*Lynda M (Thornton) Guelker* | AVP

Alyssa,
Is there a way I can send you the completed published file and the
non-published file, so you can see the audio file?*Lynda *
Sounds like a good plan, Lynda. We'll be here if you need us!

I did finally find a solution - sorry for not posting sooner. I ended up having to adjust the quality settings on the Publish settings. Once I turned up the Audio Bitrate as high as it would go and clicked the Optimize Audio Volume, it worked.
Absolutely, Lynda!
Please use this link to share the files with me privately. They'll come straight to my inbox!

Alyssa,
I am still having the cutting off issue. It seems to occur if the audio is longer than a minute twenty. So my solution (that I have found to work) is I actually chop up the audio file into 2 or 3 sections depending on the length. That seems to work!
I am having an issue with the recording being very choppy in production. But when I save the file and then review, all is well! It is just a little bothersome more than anything. But I didn't know if anyone else was having an issue.
Thanks for all your help!

Hi, I am facing similar problem when uploading a recorded video file (sound not recorded in storyline). It works fine in chrome browser but it has terrible audio quality (very low sound) when played from mobile. I checked all the audio settings in mobile and it seems the problem is there with Rise. I sent the video clip. Can you please help?
