Cannot import slides

Hi!

I've installed the 21 feb. update for Storyline 360 today and wanted to import some slides from our template library on Team Slides. When I click import on a random slide the dialog box appears with progress bar, it downloads the slide and after that, nothing appears in my project. Also importing in a empty project doesn't work. I can seem to import some slides but others just don't.

Also copying and pasting slides from one scene to another doesn't seem to work.

I could use some assistance, thanks.
btw; I have the .story file but I cannot share it publically.

  • I've been working on a new project, and I have to import files from one storyline into another storyline (.story) file. no matter how many times I've tried, and on different slides, I am unable to import slides from another SL file - it produces a new scene that is blank. Today I tried creating the new scene first, and adding a blank slide and then do the import, but got the same results, now with a new scene and the original blank slide. This is a major issue, and looking at the history of other related discussions, it's not new. Note: I also updated my SL project file, and attempted to insert new slide from a .storytemplate. this slide also would not import.

      Hi Cheryl,

Sorry to hear that you ran into this issue.

If importing slides results in a blank scene, there's a chance that your file has encountered some form of data corruption. Would you be willing to share a copy of your project file here or in private by opening a support case so we can take a closer look at what's happening? We'll delete it when we're done testing!

  • Hi Cheryl,

I never had a solution to this from Articulate that I recall. Try making a copy of your source file, delete all the slides out of it except the one you want to import. Save the file. Close Storyline. Reopen Storyline. Open the file you want to import to. Then import the one slide story file. Maybe that will work.  Bottom line, the source story file is corrupt in some way. Understanding that a .story file is essentially a .zip file, the corruption could be one of a number of the files in the source .story file.  Try different variants of this. Such as creating a story file, with 1 blank slide in it.  Then import the 1 slide from the 1 slide source file.  If that is successful. Close Storyline. Open your current course you want to import to, and import the 1 slide from the formerly blank slide story file. Try different ideas, always closing the Storyline in between each step.

    Good Luck
