Certification WCAG 2.1 AA for Courses needed (Rise360)

Hey awesome community! 👋

One of our clients is asking us to get a certification to prove that our courses (built in Rise360) meet WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.

Has anyone gone through this process or knows how we might get our courses officially certified?

Really appreciate any guidance you can share! 🙏

Thanks so much,
Andri

  • Hi Andri!

Glad to see Elizabeth has been helping you!

I just wanted to pop in and highlight our Accessibility Sub-Group in E-Learning Heroes. It's full of other Articulate users who also care about making their courses accessible. If you're looking for help on best practices when authoring content thats WCAG compliant, that might be a great place to post this query.

Have a great rest of your week!

  • Hi Andri!

I don't believe there's any sort of official organization that "certifies" things as meeting accessibility standards, but you can use a company like Fable (https://makeitfable.com/) to audit a published output of your course (likely Rise 360's web output) to identify any inaccessible components. If you used the fully accessible components listed in this article, I doubt that a Fable tester will find much: https://access.articulate.com/support/article/Rise-360-Choosing-Accessible-Components-to-Create-Online-Learning
