Closed Captioning

Hi

I am adding closed captions to an e-learning for the first time... great function - very easy to use!

However the text has a black outline which depending on the background and text colour makes reading the text really difficult (see example below)

how do I get rid of the black outline??

  • Patricia, go to the Player properties window, select "Colors & Effects" and then use the Closed Captions formatting options to adjust font. Could be that you inadvertently selected a bold font.

      Hi Bobby

It doesn't matter which font I select, bold or otherwise, they all have the black outline... I am currently using the Articulate Lite font in white, with a dark blue background as this seems to hide the outline on the lettering the best... but it is still not ideal!

        Hello PatriciadeSouza,

Thanks for reaching out! I also observed the same behavior when I used white and dark blue for my captions. There isn't a way to fully customize the appearance of captions to remove the black outline, but we do have a feature request open for such as feature. I've added this thread to the report so we can notify you as soon as this enhancement makes it to our product roadmap

As a workaround, try using black as the background color, making the captions more visible.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, and we'll let you know if there are any changes to how captions are displayed!
